Biography
For Stephanie, art is a way of life, simply expressing the emotions that arise from her heart.
As a Greek child growing up in Sydney's Darlighusrt in the 60's she believes the colours and
chaos of the city were the perfect playground for imagination and creativity. At high school
she discovered her passion for sewing and in 1980 enrolled in a 3yr Dress Design Diploma
at East Sydney Tafe. There she learned the foundation of colour and design, using fabric
instead of paint. Her first work as a designer involved creating wedding dresses and courtier
garments.
Once married and a mother of two, Stephanie together with her husband Nick,
started a unique business in the clothing industry called the 'The Stud Factory'.
Here she developed many useful skills and worked in well with bring up her children , but
Stephanie admits that she had let her creative side fall.
In 1999 Stephanie and her family moved to the Central Coast. This was the beginning of her
personal journey where she re-evaluated her life direction and re-discovered her creative soul.
Mediation, yoga, shamanic work, art therapy and colour healing inspired her work, which resulted
in her first solo exhibition in 2002 at the Gosford Regional Gallery, Calling it "OBella Diva" eyes of joy.
Over the next few years she continued to paint and was involved in four exhibitions including one more solo exhibition. In 2005 she enrolled in The School of Colour and Design, here she blossomed, expressing herself in an entirely different style. She combines her fashion and colour skills, knowledge of alchemy and creative visualization to create art that is ultimately a celebration of her new self.
Then in 2012 the opportunity came for Stephanie to study Transpersonal Art Therapy at the College of Complimentary Medicine
Stephanie's love of understanding the Self through art, dance and spiritual exploration brought her to this course, binding together all that she had explored and experienced over the past 15 years, giving her the fundamental skills and tools needed to move forward in life doing what she loves and combing all her creative talents together, stepping into her the next chapter as a Transpersonal Art Therapist
